What kayaking in Stanislav is like
Kayaking in the ‘Kherson Mountains’ will cause a storm of emotions. The route passes through the picturesque places of the Dnipro-Bug Estuary. The coastline combines a small strip of beach and huge clay slopes. In winter, they are covered with snow, and there is a thin crust of ice on the water.
You can go kayaking as part of an excursion group. This way, you will see all the beauty of the Grand Canyon and learn about the history of these lands. The departure point is Kherson. Winter kayaking adventures begin in Oleksandrivka. Get instructed and be ready for a water journey!
You can go kayaking on your own, but that way you won't taste an excellent pike ukha (fish soup) cooked according to the local recipe. Kayak rental in Stanislav is currently unavailable, so be ready to go to Oleksandrivka.
Kayaking route
The winter route runs through the territory of the Oleksandrivka and Stanislav landscape reserves. You will pass along the coast with high clay rocks, cliffs and gullies. Various bird species nest there. You can see waders, pelicans, gulls, and swans. The swift red canyons, the snow cap on the rocks, and the quiet expanse of the estuary create a unique landscape. It's worth seeing with your own eyes!
On the way from Oleksandrivka to Stanislav, you can make a couple of stops for photos. Be sure to climb to the top of the canyon to see the boundless beauty of the estuary. Here, you will feel free from all problems and worries. The emotions are inexpressible!
Winter kayaking has many advantages over a summer one:
- in winter, the water is very clean. You can see the bottom and the inhabitants of the estuary;
- there is no sweltering heat. Kayaking under the direct sun is not fun;
- nature impresses with its contrast. In winter, everything is different here – contrast, lighting, and colors. If you happen to catch still fog, it will be difficult to pry yourself away from all the beauty;
- the estuary is covered with thin ice. When else can you swim among the ice in the south?
- atmospheric photos. There are a lot of locations to take cool pictures. Take an impressive photo against the background of the mountains.
Kayaking in the ‘Kherson Mountains’ gives experience and emotions that will stay with you forever!
