Kherson Fortress Park

History of the park

On the territory and in the vicinity of the park you can see historical objects dating back to the establishment of the city. There are several sites from the architectural ensemble of the Kherson fortress:  Ochakiv and Petersburg Gates, a fortress well, one of the powder cellars, St.Catherine Cathedral and the arsenal building. For many years, the park was called "Lenin Komsomol Park;" its name was changed in 2016 to “Kherson Fortress Park.”

There are several cafes and restaurants, a tennis court, entertainment for children, and jogging tracks on the territory of the park. It is also a popular location for conducting festivals and fairs.
